I have nothing against outreach platforms, it’s a great way to earn high DR links, and we offer that service on another page. Ideally you should be using both strategies. 

The main difference between the two is that with outreach platforms that are just looking for quotes, the story isn’t about you.

You get a backlink in exchange for your quote, but you aren’t a particularly important part of that news story, so it’s doubtful many people will directly click through to see who you are.
